The Bellagio is a world famous resort featured right in the prime spot of Las Vegas’ strip in Paradise, Nevada. The resort is inspired by the town of Bellagio in Italy, and so the world renowned Italian elegance we all know and love is displayed through the decor of the Bellagio resort- it is famed for its one of a kind luxury and elegance.
The resort itself brags a massive 116,000 square feet of gaming space alone. The gaming space is far from the common gaudiness and glitz that most tourists and gamblers will be used to in Vegas- everything is more streamlined, minimal and glamorous. It’s poker room is world renowned due to the fact that the table limits are exceptionally high. One table in particular, the Big Game, has stakes so high that they can reach up to $4000/$8000. This is where you are likely to find talented poker pros trying their hand at a game. Because of it’s world renowned success with poker, the Bellagio poker room is often referred to as “The Office” by professional poker players. Basically, don’t come here unless your poker strategy is flawless!
In total, the Bellagio possesses 207 table games and poker games and an additional 2,449 slot machines.
The Hotel and Fountains
The casino isn’t all that’s large about the Bellagio, however. The resort boasts just shy of 4,000 hotel rooms, each more luxurious than the last. In addition to this, there is also an eight acre lake which tourists eagerly flock to see. This lake is lined with a number of world famous fountains, which are set to perform shows in time to music, along with flashing lights- it really is quite the display. But we’re talking sizes. The fountains have over 1,200 nozzles incorporated into their design along with 4,500 lights- all of which make the shows so incredibly, and possible for that matter. They cost a whopping $40 million to build.
Furthermore, the Bellagio has a huge conservatory and botanical garden, where flowers change with five different seasonal switches throughout the year- the standard Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, but also celebrating the Chinese New Year too. There are also certain themed events put on across the year too, such as Thanksgiving and Memorial Day.
To complete the elegance of the Bellagio’s exquisite interior, it features a lot of grand and very expensive art pieces. The Bellagio occasionally hosts art exhibits, so that its guests can view even more luxurious pieces of art. Some of these exhibits have included American Modernism, Andy Warhol: The Celebrity Portraits and Faberge: Treasures from Kremlin. The exhibits always attract large crowds and are nearly always a sell out.
Bellagio has won numerous awards, several years on the trot, including the AAA Five Diamond Award fifteen years running, whilst two of it’s restaurants have been awarded the same. Three of the hotels are Michelin star rated and The Bellagio has been listed as one of the top hotels in the world. Quality over quantity is usually true, but in the case of the Bellagio, you definitely receive both.
Due to it’s gargantuan size, the Bellagio employs 8,000 people. The original construction of the resort was set to cost $1.6 billion, but following on from this, when the resort opened in 1998, they hosted a $88 million launch event for V.I.P’s. Thanks to this, once the Bellagio opened, it earned itself the title of “Most Expensive Hotel Ever Built”. Since then, the Bellagio has had several upgrades, with one costing just $70 million by itself- this was used to remodel 3,015 of the rooms across the resort. The Bellagio keeps on making millions, and will spend millions to provide the top range gamblers with a once in a lifetime experience. Can money buy happiness? It seems like it can! This entry was posted in USA
